Dr. Nepomuceno is WESVARRDEC’s New Consortium Director

“As we strive to embody our vision to be the leaders in Science and Technology innovation and with renewed vigor and enthusiasm, let us work hand in hand in the realization of our redefined role as a vibrant and responsive consortium.” This is according to Dr. Noeni S. Nepomuceno during the joint RTWG, RTG, RACG and RMIS 2nd Quarter Meeting last June 29, 2012 at WVSU Teleconference Hall. 

Dr. Nepomuceno is the new consortium director of Western Visayas Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (WESVARRDEC) at the same time a Professor IV at West Visayas State University. 

Prior to his appointment, Dr. Nepomuceno served the University in various capacities as the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Director of the University Planning and Development Office, and as Principal of the Secondary Laboratory.

Dr. Nepomuceno is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from West Visayas State University (WVSU). He finished his M.A. in Agriculture from the same University and pursued his MA program in Economics at the University of the Philippines in Diliman under the US-RP Faculty Development Program. In 1996, he graduated his Doctor of Education at WVSU, and presently serving as a Program Adviser and Professor of the College of Education Educational Management Program.  His other related field of exposures and trainings include cooperatives (1996) and industry linkages (2003) in Tokyo, Japan, and multimedia (2001), Lean Management System (2011) in Bangkok, Thailand.

As a faculty of the College of Agriculture, he was designated as the first research staff of the newly created Office of Research in 1987, assisting the new University Research Director in the formulation of WVSU research agenda and initiatives needed as a newly converted State University. He also served as President of the of Iloilo Research and Training Consultants Association (IRTCA) engaged in various formulations of strategic development plans, IT plans, research, and training needs of public and private institutions. He presented several studies in socio-economic, crop and animal science categories and won several awards in the regional symposia, and recently presented a paper on Lean Management Systems in the Public Sector in Bangkok, Thailand.

As his work and achievements entail, he is a man with dedication to service.  With his commendable performance in serving WVSU as an effective faculty member, and a civic-minded community leader, he is ready to spearhead the consortium’s operation based on the National Science and Technology Agenda, the new Industry Strategic Plan of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development, Regional Research and Development Agenda as well as CMAs/PMAs identified commodities that will support the social contract of the present administration particularly in food security and poverty alleviation.
